Boyce’s Journey

A native of North Carolina, Boyce has been a fighter all his life. Born with an extremely rare medical condition called Jeune Syndrome, Boyce learned from an early age to deal with a variety of medical challenges. Through his perseverance and positive attitude, he has battled a degenerative eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa, Scoliosis, and kidney disease.
Now living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Boyce is a graduate of Jay M. Robinson High School in Concord North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Rutgers University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Boyce is a loving brother and son.
Boyce is an aspiring writer and is active with the Winston-Salem Writers Group. He loves listening to audiobooks, spending time with his family, walking, Star Wars, kayaking, and Legos.
The Fall of 2022 was a particularly challenging time for Boyce. He lost the last bit of his sight due to his Retinitis Pigmentosa and was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. Surgery to remove one of his kidneys succeeded in curing the cancer, but left him with decreased kidney function, and he started peritoneal dialysis in December.
Now, Boyce is facing his biggest challenge of all. He needs your help.
